ART CONNECTION RHODE ISLAND ANNOUNCES
Art, Books, & Conversation Event at Knight Memorial Library
Pawtucket, RI, March 13, 2025 – Art Connection Rhode Island (ACRI), a Pawtucket-based arts nonprofit, is teaming up with the Community Libraries of Providence to host an Art, Books, & Conversation (ABC) Event! The event will be held at Knight Memorial Library, 275 Elmwood Ave, Providence, RI 02907, on March 27 from 6:00-7:30 pm.
The ABC event is part of a monthly series that brings community leaders and movers into the Knight Memorial Library for an open dialogue, in which participants discuss their stories, inspirations and accomplishments. The conversation seeks to stimulate new ideas through discourse and to build on community efforts, as Knight Memorial Library is currently celebrating its centennial year.
ACRI was invited by Doug Victor, the President of Knight Memorial Library, to be the focus of the March ABC event, which is sponsored by a community grant from the Rhode Island Foundation. The event will feature an exceptional display of artwork throughout the library, showcasing the generosity of artists who have donated their creations to be exhibited in Nonprofits across Rhode Island. Doug will open the conversation with Wendy Ingram, ACRI’s Founder and Board Chair, as they delve into her journey and the process through which ACRI facilitates the donation and reception of artwork. The discussion will then explore the profound impact that these donations have had on the communities served by Nonprofits, with special mention to the latest contributions and artists ACRI has worked with. To conclude, Wendy will share the art outreach program that empowers artists to lead after-school art classes for youth at local organizations, further enriching the cultural fabric of the community.
“It’s a pleasure connecting artists with organizations within the community of Rhode Island that are doing such important work and I am looking forward to discussing ACRI’s impact with Doug at the ABC event,” says ACRI’s Founder, Wendy Ingram. Over the past 14 years, ACRI has helped local artists gain visibility and reach broader audiences by placing over 2,000 pieces across nearly 130 nonprofits in Rhode Island. ACRI envisions a future where every service agency will have original art transforming its public spaces, providing a lasting impact on those who interact with them.
